5 parental controls you should use on your child’s iPhone

Apple iPhone ranks among the most desired phones out there. Apple has been trying to improve its iPhone lineup since the launch day, expanding its functionality beyond being able to send messages and make phone calls. If you now own a modern iPhone model, keep in mind that the thing in your hand is a bigger deal than you think.

One of the features that have been added to iOS recently lies in Restrictions. In reality, with a modern version of iOS, Apple introduced new controls that keep children safe on your iPhone and iPad.

In this guide, we have created a list of five parental controls you can use on your kid’s iPhone. Before we begin, make sure you have already enable Restrictions on your iPhone. To do this, head to Settings > General > Restrictions and turn on the switch for Restrictions.

  1. Turn off certain apps

Restrictions let you disable certain apps on your iPhone. This is a great option as some apps may contain explicit content. To disable apps using Restrictions, open the Settings app from your home screen, scroll down a little bit and hit General. After that, select Restrictions and turn off the switch for your desired apps.

  1. Content restrictions

With Restrictions, you can restrict access to content on your iPhone, thus preventing your children from purchasing films that contain explicit content. You can also select content ratings for podcasts, books, and apps on your device.

Besides, you can restrict your children’s access to certain types of films, books, apps, and Siri on your iPhone. To do this, launch the Settings app on your device, select General, and hit Restrictions. Once you are in, select the content you wish to restrict access to.

  1. Privacy settings

Restrictions allow you to prevent your kids from making changes to your settings and apps on your device. If you are a big fan of Location Services on your device, make sure you turn on the switch for Don’t Allow Changes for Share My Location so your kids cannot turn off location tracking.

Apple has compiled a list of all apps and settings you can restrict your kids �access to, including Location Services, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Photos, Bluetooth Sharing, and even more.

  1. Website restrictions

You can use the Restrictions feature to control which websites your kids can access on your device. To do this, you can follow our steps below.

Step one: First off, launch the Settings app from your home screen and then hit General

Step two: Once you are in, hit Restrictions and select Websites under the Allowed Content section

Step three: You will be presented with three options, including All Websites, Limit Adult Content and Specific Websites only.

  1. Game Center

Game Center is a great app that allows you to add friends, challenge their high scores, and invite them to play your games. With a modern version of iOS, Restrictions allow you to disable Multiplayer mode for certain games. To do this, open the Settings app, select General and hit Restrictions. Once you are in, select the game you wish to turn off Multiplayer mode for on your device.
