Apple iPad tablet next generation will offer higher performance and greater energy efficiency thanks to the quad-core processor A6. Tablet itself is likely to be available no earlier than June next year, said Linli Guenap – senior analyst at The Linley Group. According to him A6 will soon go into production in the factories of Taiwan’s TSMC. A5 processor is manufactured by Samsung, but now Apple has entered into litigation with South Korean technology giant.
Under plans for the production of A6, placing the chip will begin as early as the second quarter of 2012 and the next iPad will appear at the same time. These predictions are contrary to information Wall Street Journal, which appeared recently in which Apple is expected to present their tablet early next year.
Improvement of the A6 will be possible thanks to the transition to 28 nanometer process technology in TSMC.
