According to DigiTimes, Apple has begun the certification of companies that will produce components for the third generation of tablet iPad. Among the first certified producers are Radiant Opto-Electronics, which will produce LED backlight for the screen of the tablet. However there is no certified manufacturer producing panels for the display of the iPad 3. Rumors of the next generation iPad is that Apple will use AMOLED panels, but other sources say this is unlikely to happen and the device will work with 9,7-inch LCD display. Today panels for Apple produce Samsung and LG Display, but the company is in the process of certification the Taiwan Chimei Innolux as well. Release of the device will be next year.
