How to move your personal data from Android to iOS using Move to iOS

If you are planning to move from Android to iPhone and iPad, you want to make sure that all of your personal data makes the switch with you. This includes photos, contacts, videos, music, and more. Apple is fully aware of that, so the company built a handy feature called Move to iOS into its mobile operating system.

As the name implies, the Move to iOS app allows users to transfer all of their personal data from Android to iOS, ranging from contacts, text messages to photos and email accounts. This comes in handy, as it eliminates the need for a third-party app to be installed on your device.

In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to move your data from Android to iOS using Move to iOS. Before we dive in, make sure that you are now running iOS 9 or later.

How to move your personal data from Android to iOS using Move to iOS

Step one: Set up your new iPhone or iPad as usual until you see the “App & Data” screen. After that, make sure that you tap Move Data from Android at the bottom to proceed

Step two: Next up, head to your Android phone and download the Move to iOS app from the Google Play Store

Step three: Once done, you simply need to launch the app on your Android and hit Continue on both Android and iOS devices

Step four: On your Android device, hit Agree and then select Next. You will see a 12-digit code that shows up on your iOS device (you may want to write it down)

Step five: Head back to your Android device and enter the code displayed on your iOS device. Once you are done, you can choose what you want to copy to your iPhone or iPad and wait for the transfer process to finish (this could take a while depending on how much data you have)

Step six: Once the transfer process is finished, continue setting up your iPhone as usual and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Alternatively, you can use Google Drive to move all of your personal data from Android to iOS device. All you need to do is sync your data to the cloud and then download it on your new iOS device.
