iPhone 7/7 Plus running slow? Here is how you can speed it up

  1. Turn off Reduce Motion

Apple’s mobile operating system has changed a lot over a decade. With iOS 9, Apple introduced animations and a redesigned App Switcher. Basically, animated icons and visual effects are pretty amazing on your iPhone, but that doesn’t mean that everyone’s a fan of them.

Motion and animation effects not only drain your battery but also require your processors and RAM to work harder. Luckily, Apple has provided a way to reduce the animations using Reduce Motion, which is hidden in Settings.

To enable Reduce Motion on your iPhone, you simply head to Settings, scroll down a little bit and select General, and select Accessibility. After that, tap Reduce Motion and turn on the switch.

  1. Make sure that you are running the latest software update

Long gone are the day when updating to the latest iOS could slow down your iPhone. All software updates are now tested to optimize device performance and resolve known issues. If you are having performance issues on your iPhone, the best shot now is to update to the latest iOS version. To do this, you simply need to head to Settings, tap General and select Software Update.

  1. Background processes

If you are experiencing performance issues with your iPhone, it might be because of too many apps running in the background. In reality, apps like Facebook or Instagram tend to run in the background without your permission. Fortunately. Apple allows you to see what background apps and processes are running on your iPhone.

To access background processes, head to Settings > General and tap Background Refresh. After that, turn off access to Facebook, Instagram and more.
