Some time ago Genius Electric Optical and Largan Precision were two company names mentioned as possible suppliers of cameras for the second iPad. Largan Precision is now rumored as a producer of at least some of the sensors for the next generation iPhone. The information comes from DigiTimes, claiming that the Taiwanese company is currently using 10% of its production capacity to produce 8MP modules but is preparing for the third quarter to increase their share at the expense of 5MP modules for a potential order from Apple. Because ultimately Largan Precision really supplying modules for camera of iPad 2, the probability to produce cameras for the iPhone 5 as well is by no means small.
