Microsoft consider the opportunity to release their own office package for iPhone said Stephen Elop, business unit president of Microsoft, quoted by TechCrunch.
Commenting on Web 2.0 Expo events, Elop implied that his company will release an iPhone version of Office but it is not expected soon.
The appearance of office package for iPhone will make the Apple smartphone more attractive to business users. They will be able to view and edit documents in the most popular formats.
However analysts warn that Microsoft can harm its own mobile operating system Windows Mobile this way. One of its advantages are the most popular office package support.
Microsoft already gave license to Apple for MS Exchange support which is one of the main requirements of business users.
