Along with the plenty of news about CES, Apple also provided us with one, albeit very indirectly. Far in the depths of iOS 5.1 hackers found a management software for processor cores, which now supports up to 4-core processors. They will refer to the processor of the iPhone and iPad and it almost 100% sure means that the next generations will have quad-core CPU (Apple A6).
The software clearly shows “” / cores/core.3. “” (With the core “0”) are four cores. Apple A5 (dual) is identified by “/ cores/core.1.”.
Apple certainly have tested quad-core devices and according to some rumors their software engineers are currently preparing Final Cut Pro version for mobile devices.
