iOS 11 took the center stage at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple’s next version of mobile operating system introduces hundreds of new features to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. iOS 11 might not bring a significant update to the operating system, like iOS 10 did in 2016, but there are still a lot of little things that really make a difference where it counts
With iOS 11, Apple poured a lot of love into the iPad, but that doesn’t mean there is nothing major to discover for iPhone users. There are a number of exciting features that are sure to please any iPhone user in iOS 11.
In this post, we have compiled a list of four best iOS 11 features for your iPhone. Before we dive in, keep in mind that iOS 11 is currently available as developer beta, so it may contain bugs and glitches that ruin your day. We recommend you make a full backup of your device before moving ahead.
A completely redesigned Control Center
One of the best highlights of iOS 11 lies in its redesigned single-screen Control Center. In iOS 11, Apple cleaned up the mess in iOS 10 Control Center, instead introducing a single page stocked with toggles and switches, allowing you to quickly access the settings for things you do most on your device.
What Apple did not mention at this year’s WWDC is that you can customize your Control Center. iPhone owners now can select what’s displayed in their Control Center. Besides, there is also an option to add Apple TV Remove to iOS 11 Control Center.
Revamped messages app drawer
The Messages app received a vast improvement in iOS 10 with the introduction of visual effects, stickers, third-party apps and bigger emoji characters. In iOS 11, the Messages app has got a new app drawer, offering you a quick access to apps and stickers. Now, all you need to do is to swipe across the bottom of the screen to access your favorite iMessage apps, eliminating the need to head back to the app drawer every time you want to switch apps.
Do Not Disturb While Driving
iOS 11 introduces a new handy feature called Do Not Disturb While Driving, which will automatically block notifications or alerts while you are driving. You may be wondering how it works.
Basically, the feature automatically senses you are in a moving car and shows a blank screen. Besides, it also lets people who are trying to reach you that you are now driving and will get back to them when you arrive at your destination. Do Not Disturb While Driving will automatically wake up when your phone connects to a car’s Bluetooth.
Peer-to-peer payment in Apple Pay
Apple Pay is now the most mobile payment service in the world. Apple has been busy expanding its payment service to more markets for months. In iOS 11, Apple Pay finally received support for peer-to-peer payment. This allows you to quickly send money to your friends and families using the Messages app or Siri. When receiving money, it automatically goes into your Apple Pay Cash account, which can be sent to your bank account.
