At this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, iOS 11 took the center stage with hundreds of new features including a redesigned control center, a new Files app, the Dock for the iPad, support for peer-to-peer payment in Apple Pay and much more. iOS 11 is now available as a developer beta for testing purposes. You can even download and install it without the need for a developer account.
However, iOS 11 beta now includes bugs and glitches that may put you off. Luckily, you can get some of iOS 11 new features on your iPhone and iPad running iOS 10. To make that happen, you need to jailbreak your phone. In reality, there are a lot of jailbreak tweaks that offer the same features found in iOS 11 beta, and if you now have a jailbroken device, you can get these exciting features without installing iOS 11 beta on your iPhone or iPad.
One-handed keyboard mode
iPhone is getting bigger and bigger, thus making it more difficult for users to navigate the screen. Apple is fully aware of that, and the company officially added one-handed keyboard mode to iOS 11. If you have already jailbroken your iPhone, you can easily get this exciting feature by downloading a jailbreak tweak called OneHanded.
In reality, OneHanded is a popular tweak that allows you to easily type on larger displays. Basically, you can swipe left or right on your keyboard to shrink the keys down to size. This a great jailbreak tweak for those who have trouble typing on iPhone.
In iOS 11, you now can record your iPhone’s screen without the need for a Mac or third-party software. If you now have a jailbroken iPhone, you can easily get the same feature on your device thanks to a handy jailbreak tweak called CCRecord.
Besides, if you don’t want to jailbreak your phone, you can install AirShou, a great tweak that allows you to record your iPhone screen. The best part is that you don’t need to jailbreak your device to install the tweak. All you need to do is to sideload the app onto your iOS device using Cydia Impactor.
iOS 11 introduces a dark mode feature called Smart Invert, which switches some aspects of your phone to a dark theme. However, Smart Invert is not actually a dark mode, as what it does is make your phone display even darker. However, if you want to get the dark mode on iOS 10, give Eclipse a try. Eclipse is a great jailbreak tweak that adds night mode to the entire iOS interface, making it much easier for nighttime reading.
A redesigned Control Center
A completely redesigned Control Center is among the best highlights of iOS 11. Users now can choose what they want and don’t want to include in Control Center. There are a lot of jailbreak tweaks out there that help you do the same thing. You can use FlipControlCenter to add more toggles to your Control Center and CCHide to remove sections from Control Center.
